PSYCHOTHERAPIST/COUNSELLOR
“Life may be compared to a piece of embroidery of which, during the first half of our time, we get a sight of the right side, and during the second half, of the wrong. The wrong side is not as pretty…but it is more instructive; it shows the way in which the threads have been worked together (to make the pattern).”

Therapy
Therapy can be a way to help to work through emotional issues that maybe present in your life now, such as grief, anxiety or relational difficulties. It can also help in identifying and exploring issues not so immediate or obvious but are somehow impeding and interfering with personal development and growth. The unpacking and processing of past life events can be a way of making sense of present emotional experiences and patterns of behaviour, both positive and negative, often leading to a deeper and more meaningful understanding of ones own sense of self and worth.
My orientation is Relational/Integrative, which uses a range of theories (rather than a single theoretical approach) and puts the relationship of client and therapist at the centre of the therapeutic encounter. Drawing on different theoretical frameworks and building on the trusting therapeutic relationship that develops is, I believe, key to successful therapy.
Both short (6 to12 sessions) and medium term (20 to 24 sessions) as well as open-ended psychotherapy can be arranged according to the your individual wishes and needs presented at the first consultation. This can be reviewed at any stage during the course of the sessions as the therapy unfolds.
My practice is supervised on a regular basis by a fully qualified supervisor.
